QUEENSMEAD NETBALL LEAGUE

  • Currently Queensmead Netball League runs five divisions of netball, with leagues playing on the nights as detailed below:

Monday: Premier league & Division 1

Tuesday: Division 4 & Division 5

Thursday: Division 2 & Division 3

  • At the end of each season, the top two teams from Divisions 1-5 will be promoted and the lowest-placed two teams from Premier league – Division 4 will be relegated (although this may vary depending on teams dropping out or new teams entering the league).
  • The cost for the current season will be £270.00 (this includes court hire costs, payments for umpires etc.).  This is based on divisions of at least 6 teams. Each team will play everyone twice during the course of the season, thus playing at least 10 matches in total.
  • ALL TEAMS MUST BE AFFILIATED TO ENGLAND NETBALL (see https://www.englandnetball.co.uk/affiliation-toolkit for further information)

LEAGUE MATCHES

  • Matches consist of four quarters of 15 minutes (1 hour playing time in total).
  • ‘Early’ matches start at 7.30pm; ‘Late’ matches start at 8.45pm
  • 3 points are awarded for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a losing team which scores at least half as many goals as their opponents.
  • All teams (other than Division 5) should provide an umpire for their opposite match time (i.e. teams who have an early game should provide an umpire for the late game and vice versa). Umpires will be provided for Division 5 matches.
  • All teams should provide a scorer for their opposite match time
  • If any qualified umpires or trainees are interested in umpiring at Queensmead then please contact us.
